Welcome to Masque Community Theatre!
Thank you for taking the time to visit our Web site. Masque Community Theatre of Temple Terrace was established in 1986. Our community and the surrounding communities have worked together since that time to bring our area some of the finest shows straight from Broadway. With a seating capacity of 200 and a huge stage, our community has shown just how much talent they have.
We have some of the biggest names in adult shows which leave audiences both laughing and crying. Our youth productions give opportunities to thousands of children that would otherwise not have such experiences if it wasn’t for Masque Theatre. They now have a greater understanding of what it means to work together for one common goal. We at Masque Theatre can not express just how proud we are of their accomplishments. Some of these kids, now grown have become successful and outstanding citizens.
In a world where people and families move to different parts of the globe, we feel that life stability and character starts within one’s community. We love our theatre and love bringing the best to you. So please, enjoy our Web site and stop into our theatre sometime for a great show and a life experience you will not soon forget.

Next Show Playing
Steel Magnolias
Steel Magnolia’s is set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle (who is not sure whether or not she is still married), the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser, (”I’m not crazy, I’ve just been in a bad mood for forty years”); an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby (the prettiest girl in town), is about to marry a “good ole boy.” Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play moves toward tragedy when, in the second act, the spunky Shelby (who is a diabetic) risks pregnancy and forfeits her life. The sudden realization of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on the underlying strength—and love—which give the play, and its characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad.
Performance Dates: February 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28; March 5, 6, 7

Masque Theatre takes first prize in the Temple Terrace 4th of July parade for the best float.
In the next few months Masque Theatre will have to start planning its relocation. This change will happen because the complex our theatre is located in is part of the Temple Terrace redevelopment project. Though this makes many of our members feel a little nervous about where we may end up, the staff at Masque Theatre truly believes it is an opportunity to be better than ever. The City of Temple Terrace, guided by Mayor Joe Affronti, has been working hard to make sure our community has a new Arts Center in the middle of our new city town center. Everyone has great hopes that this will be Masque Theatre’s new home. If this does become our new home, we will continue to put on the highest quality shows working hard to make Temple Terrace proud. The truth is that whether Masque Theatre ends up in the new Arts Center or has to find its own home, we will continue making improvments and working hard. The cost of moving will not be cheap, wherever we end up. We have opened a new redevelopment capital account at Bank of America and have set a goal to raise $50,000 by May, 2009 and by January 2011, our goal is increased to $100,000 Masque Theatre has been bringing you great entertainment for 22 years. We have provided great plays and productions in that time from schools, clubs, The Lightfoot Center and even the TT City Hall chambers. We have rehearsed for these shows in our homes, restaurants, unoccupied store fronts and churches. The wonderful people that have been a part of this do it because they love it and love bringing it to you. The thousand of children involved will never forget their experience and because of this, become more organized and better citizens of their communities. For the last five years we have had a wonderful home supplied by the city of Temple Terrace. Your donation will help make it possible to continue in the type of facility Masque Theatre should be in and the type of facility you can feel comfortable coming to. Wherever we move, this financial goal will help us accomplish this. So keep your eyes on our new thermometer over the next year or so and help us get there. Together we can make this happen and keep the arts in our community. We will be posting all the names of the people, foundations and businesses that make an investment in our theatre and our community’s future through donations to our redevelopment capital account.
